Shed Brewers Festival
After a two year hiatus due to reasons beyond anyone’s control we are please to announce the return of the Shed Brewers Festival, those among us who are familiar with this event will notice that the date has changed to earlier in the year, primarily this is so we can enjoy the festivities along with some spring sunshine. Which I am sure all would agree would be most welcome.
Beers
The format will follow a familiar pattern to previous years. There will be 15 beers brewed by brewers from all over the region available for tasting, on purchasing a ticket you will receive a ‘Beer Card’ that will give you a set amount of beer you can taste during the day (full ticket details still to be announced).
Food
There will be food available throughout the afternoon and of course some excellent beers, wines and spirits available to purchase from the main bar.
Activities
Beyond sampling beers we will also be running a limited number of tutored tasting session, these will be run by a beer sommelier with many years of experience in the brewing and beer industry. These will run throughout the afternoon on a first come first served basis, more details and how to put your name down will be published on the day.
We also plan to have a small area setup for anyone interested in getting involved with brewing to chat about ingredients, process, equipment, basically anything that can help you get started.
Tickets
Please note this is a ticket only events tickets will need to be purchased via The Victoria Pub in Colchester closer to the time. Keep checking back here and our various social media feeds for updates on ticket availability.
This does not mean you are unable to attend without a ticket, you are more than welcome to come along for a chat to the brewers and enjoy the beers on offer at the pub, but you will need a ticket and beer card to get served from the festival beers.
There will be a limited number of tickets so don’t delay when they become available.
Volunteers
If you’re able to volunteer, we’re in need of hands to help throughout the day. There’s a brewers beer being provided for all helpers, plus there’s The Vic’s bar, with 4x cask and more on keg to go at once your shift is over. Please send a message to [email protected] if you are able to help.
Alas on holiday. Can brew a beer if needed.
