July 2024 – Essex Meetup
We are returning to the Victoria Inn, Colchester for the monthly Saturday meetup in July 2024. Anyone who knows the pub is aware of the excellent selection of beers (and other drinks) they have to offer, some would say the best in Colchester and who are we to disagree.
Agenda for the day to follow, but rumours are we are expecting a very informative chat from our chair on yeast propagation and management. Also, expect updates on upcoming events like the much anticipated Hook Norton brewery tour and ACB BBQ + Beer event.
Beer challenge
As agreed at the last AGM the beer challenge for the months of July, August and September is “American Hops”. We appreciate that first meetup might not give enough time get something ready, but if you do have a beer we would love you to bring it along.

3 weeks is plenty of time to brew a beer. A good challenge.
Brewing a Citra Pale Ale on Saturday – it might have conditioned enough by then. Although I suspect I will have something else featuring American hops – perhaps my “sustainable” Beyond the Firs clone might make an appearance?
