Harvey’s Brewery Tour September 6th 2025
Event page for the main 2025 Brewery Tour to Harvey’s Brewery in East Sussex hot on the heels of the Craft Beer Channel. Here’s some good information if you’re planning on brewing the clone challenge beer: https://youtu.be/yZC6JUMeIIA?si=19IkOJan2CWf4JrR
Think this will be a particularly difficult beer to clone with so much history and traditional methods employed. However, don’t let that stop you.
Please register your interest so the organisers can gauge numbers for the tour.
Please note that the dates are listed as 5-7 September, some are travelling on Friday 5th. The Harvey’s tour is Saturday 6th September. It’s being left to you to arrange your own transport and accommodation in the local area (Lewes or Brighton). Many are travelling and looking to stay in Brighton or Lewes for a drink Friday afternoon and evening. Others are travelling on Saturday and staying or even travelling back same day or Sunday. The decision is yours.
The clone beer is aimed at a make your own recipe and base it on your own research. See the video link for a host of information.
Great video, but not much about how they treat their yeast. I did spot them rousing it with a big paddle, but no sign of a recirculation device like you see in traditional Yorkshire breweries. The Harvey’s yeast can be quite phenolic, so I’m wondering how to keep that in check…
