Q3 Beer Challenge – Single Hop

Colin Miller has managed to source some experimental hops from Charles Faram’s experimental range. We are lucky enough to get the opportunity to get access to these hops and make a beer of our choice. Brew the beer you want to. The only limit is that you use the hop as the only hop additions.

The challenge is due to cover meetings across Q3 (July to September). Colin is looking to arrange a time for a Charles Faram rep to come and sample the beers we’ve made.

We encourage you to keep accurate records and make notes of the hops, so we can share as much brewing information about the hops as possible.

To start with, please can you register your interest to enter this challenge. We need to collate a list of brewers to accept at least 100g of hops. The hops should be free, but you may need to cover delivery costs, all tbc.

Take your beer to mid-week or monthly meetings for feedback. We are hoping to set up a meeting with the Charles Faram rep to sample some of our beers made with these hops.

The following experimental hops are on offer:

• CF384 T90 (alpha acid 5.4 %) Notes of passionfruit.
• CF386 T90 (alpha acid 4.0 %) Notes of floral and tropical orange/citrus.
